The ACT Youth Justice System 2011: A Report to the ACT Legislative Assembly by the ACT Human Rights Commission

29 July 2011

On 8 December 2010, the ACT Legislative Assembly passed a resolution that directed the Children & Young People Commissioner (CYPC) to undertake an Inquiry into the youth justice system in the ACT, including the Bimberi Youth Justice Centre and Community Youth Justice. The resolution also directed the Human Rights & Discrimination Commissioner to undertake a Human Rights Audit into conditions of detention in Bimberi.

The Commission's Report on the Inquiry and the Audit was presented to the Legislative Assembly on 29 July 2011.
