  • Sexual assault legal pilot to commence
Sexual assault legal pilot to commence

A ground-breaking ACT Sexual Assault Legal Service (SALS) is soon to open its doors, providing free confidential legal advice, representation and wraparound support for women, children, trans and non binary people who have experienced sexual violence.

Victim Support ACT and Women’s Legal Centre are partner organisations behind SALS, which is federally funded. Commonwealth Attorney-General Mark Dreyfus last year selected the ACT as one of three sites for a national pilot program to provide a specialised, independent legal service for sexual assault complainants.

Contact details for people seeking advice from SALS will be available shortly. Enquiries in the meantime can be made to Victim Support ACT on Ph 62052222
