Victim Support ACT (VSACT) acknowledges the important contribution of victims of crime who report to police to keep the community safe and ensure offenders are held accountable.  We are here to work with you to help you access your rights and entitlements and assist you with your recovery.  We provide a range of services that are free and confidential.  You do not need to have reported the crime to police to access most of our services.

We support victims of crime and their families in many ways including the provision of:

  • Free counselling with trained counsellors, psychologists, or social workers
  • Information about reporting a crime to police and what to expect at court
  • Advocacy to help you access your rights in the criminal justice system
  • Information and support to apply for financial assistance
  • Court support
  • Financial assistance
  • Provision of information to people who are on the Victims Registers
  • Information about your rights if you have been harmed by a child under 12
  • Referrals to other specialist services that may assist in your recovery
  • Outreach for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and multicultural people.
