Both the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child and the Human Rights Act 2004 (ACT) acknowledge that families, in whatever form they take, are central to a child’s wellbeing, development, and participation in society.

The Child Safe Standards scheme helps support organisations to create safe environments for children and young people. This information is provided to provide parents and carers with the confidence to check that their child’s safety and wellbeing are being actively protected by organisations they are involved in.

Our campaign to end physical punishment of children in the ACT aims to support parents and carers with positive, non-violent ways to guide children’s behaviour, recognising that safety, dignity, and respect are central to children’s rights.
