Complaint Outcomes

During the complaint process the Commission may suggest the parties try to resolve the complaint through conciliation. Conciliation is an informal, accessible process that can assist the parties to resolve the matter through a facilitated negotiation process. More information on this process is available in our Guide to Conciliation.

Conciliation is an opportunity for the people involved in a complaint talk about the issues and to resolve the complaint privately and by agreement. Conciliation can occur as a face to face meeting, through telephone or shuttle negotiation by an exchange of information and proposals for resolution.
